NYC Film Favorites

April 21, 2020

Filed in: Travel

Hi friends! It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a personal/travel-related blog post. I look forward to bringing you more Film Favorites posts like this one!

I am super passionate about the power of photographs! If this part doesn’t interest you then scroll on ahead to the pretty pictures.

Just like portrait photography captures once-in-a-lifetime memories of milestone moments, travel images capture that too.

Every time I look at an image, I remember what it felt like to be there. Having this Film Favorites series will help me to document these experiences. Just like when I look at old portraits from my childhood, I remember what that time period was like, what my family was experiencing, and what grade I was in. Basically all the feels. This is why it is so important to me to capture images from every trip. I want to remember what it was like to be there at that moment.

We went to New York City for the Fourth of July in 2019 and I took a film camera with me. I was brand new to film when I shot these and I still am. This was a just-for-fun/passion project shooting these “film favorites.” I do not have that film camera anymore but that is another story for another day. Leave a comment down below if you would like me to share more about that.

Since coming home in July 2019, I have had shipping the roll on my to-do list. But like a lot of things, it wasn’t a high priority. With some extra time on my hands, I recently mailed off the roll of film and had the images developed last week.

Here are a few of my film favorites from New York City.

Gear Used
Camera: Nikon F100
Film stock: Kodak Portra 400
